KSC MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS 2024

The annual membership year for swimming clubs such as ours who are affiliated to Swim England, runs from January to December. The annual membership fee is made up of 2 cost elements which are usually paid as a single charge by everyone by mid-February of each year.

 

• The first cost block is paid directly to our governing body Swim England and this provides insurance etc for members. The charges for 2024 are as shown below. 

  • Club Train members (most swimmers) £20.80

  • Club Compete members (those who compete in open meets etc) £43.15

  • Club Support members (teachers, committee members, parent members) £16.45  

 

Once this fee is paid, Swim England membership can be transferred to an alternative swimming club if needs be, and is only payable once each year.

 

• The second cost block is £32.00 (the same as it was in 2022 and 2023) and this is kept by Kimberley Swimming club and helps pay for league registrations, trophies, awards, social events etc. Since all of the staff who teach and manage the club are volunteers, there are no staffing costs.

 

As we are still working out how, where and when we will swim from April 2024 we are proposing this cost element will not become payable until the end of June 2024.

 

This will enable all members to transition to new session times and pool locations before any additional club payment becomes due – A kind of “try before you buy” approach.

 

We have thought long and hard about how to best tackle the current situation we find ourselves in and we hope this compromise sounds fair to you all.

 

On this basis we therefore inform you all that Swim England fees as outlined above will become payable by 10th February 2024 latest, and in all cases a new membership form should also be completed for the year 2024. If any of you have decided to lapse your membership for 2024, please let Jean or Shirley know in order that we do not waste time chasing you up.

Anyone who has not renewed, paid and been registered with the club by 10th February will be routinely lapsed with Swim England. Any lapsed membership which is then subsequently renewed after that date will incur the additional £10 new membership joining fee.
